We are seeking a veterinarian to undertake a postgraduate research project on the pathogenesis of feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). The project will focus on molecular biological and in situ studies. The position is available immediately, initially for 12 months.

The post holder has the following tasks:

  • Practical work on dissertation project
  • Contribution to the institute's post mortem diagnostic service (pathology internship)

The successful applicant fulfils the following requirements:

  • EU-recognised veterinary degree
  • Interest in immunopathological processes, laboratory work and animal models of human diseases
  • Interest in pathology and postgraduate training in the specialisation as well as in laboratory animal pathology
  • Very good English and good German skills (spoken and written)

We offer:

  • Dissertation (Dr.med.vet.) combined with training in pathology (internship)
  • Option for a subsequent residency towards the certifying examination of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists, with a focus on laboratory animal pathology
  • Salary according to the guidelines of the SNF
