We are seeking a veterinarian to undertake a postgraduate research project on the pathogenesis of Boid Inclusion Body Disease (BIBD). The project will focus on molecular biological and in vitro studies. The position is available from 1st October 2020, initially for 12 months.



The post holder has the following tasks:

  • Practical work on dissertation project
  • Contribution to the institute's post mortem diagnostic service (pathology internship)

The successful applicant fulfils the following requirements:

  • EU-recognised veterinary degree
  • Interest in reptile and infectious diseases and in laboratory work
  • Interest in pathology and postgraduate training in the specialisation
  • Very good English and good German skills (spoken and written)

We offer:

  • Dissertation (Dr.med.vet.) and contribution to the work of "The BIBD Group" (http://www.vetpathology.uzh.ch/de/Diagnostik/infektionspatho.html) combined with training in pathology (internship)
  • Option for a subsequent residency towards the certifying examination of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists
  • Salary according to the guidelines of the SNF
