Due to continued and increasing demands for our services, we are again looking for an enthusiastic, personable and talented veterinary anatomic pathologist.

Bridge Pathology Ltd. is a veterinary diagnostic histopathology and immunohistochemistry company set in a lovely part of Bristol, UK, dedicated to the provision of the very highest quality diagnostic surgical pathology services to the veterinary community. You will work in a highly collegial and friendly atmosphere alongside an international group of nine enthusiastic and hugely talented anatomic pathologists, and a tremendously supportive and smart technical and administrative team.

Our caseload is mostly composed of companion animal species, with increasing numbers of exotic animal submissions also being received. A large proportion of our clients are in referral veterinary practice, which attests to the quality of our reporting and the exacting standards that we expect of all our pathologists and laboratory staff. Indeed, we also provide the diagnostic anatomic pathology services for two of the UK veterinary schools. We work very closely with our clinical pathology colleagues in the Veterinary Pathology Group, and have daily case discussions with them. Many of our pathologists also act as external examiners and visiting lecturers at UK veterinary schools. One of our pathologists is an examiner for the ECVP and another is an examiner for the Royal Collage of Pathologists.

We are very keen to use our case material for clinical research purposes, such that our prognostically-relevant, clinically-driven studies may have a direct bearing on diagnosis, prognostication or treatment of veterinary patients. We have excellent links with the veterinary schools and other research institutes throughout the UK and are currently participating in a number of different research projects. We also supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects for universities throughout the UK. You will be encouraged to spend up to 10% of your time on research activities, and this time is factored into the diagnostic pathology rota.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. CPD is encouraged and supported. Everyone in the business stops to have coffee, tea and biscuits together each morning, and we provide a nice variety of cakes on Fridays.

Applicants should ideally be board certified by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists, European College of Veterinary Pathologists or Royal College of Pathologists, although experienced applicants who are about to sit their postgraduate examinations will also be considered. Applicants with additional research training in veterinary pathology or a related subject would be desirable. Advanced baking skills would be an advantage, but the ability to make a decent cup of tea/coffee is essential.
