The IRSEA (Research Institute in Semiochemistry and Applied Ethology) is a private Research Institute employing less than 50 employees and placed in Apt, France. IRSEA’s research is mainly focused on the study of the chemical communication and animal welfare. The multidisciplinary approach is at the base of the philosophy of our Institute, which includes different profiles in its team, such as veterinarians, biotechnologists, chemists and entomologists. Due to the growing number of pathology research projects and pathology diagnostic routine, IRSEA is now recruiting a Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist to start a PhD thesis on the project “Vomeronasal organ alterations in animals”.


Job details

Position: Researcher, level III.1 according to the French Collective Agreement “Pharmacie - Fabrication et commerce de produits à usage pharmaceutique, parapharmaceutique et vétérinaire”.
Contract type: permanent position. 
Remuneration: Salary starting from 2560 €/gross per month. Salary negotiable according to candidate’s experience and skills.

Education / Qualifications

  • DVM
  • Postgraduate qualification in Veterinary Anatomic Pathology (ECVP, ACVP)
  • relevant experience in routine diagnostic anatomic pathology

  • fluent in English
  • strong interest in fundamental and applied research
  • meticulous, well-organised and able to manage their own workload
  • dynamic, autonomous and with a strong spirit of initiative
  • team-oriented and opened to discover new scientific fields

Missions

  • PhD thesis about vomeronasal organ alterations in domestic animals and its influence in animal behaviour and welfare, under the direction of Prof. Patrick Pageat and Dr. Pietro Asproni (thesis director and co-director, respectively).
  • Routine diagnostic pathology analyses and report redaction (cytological, histopathological and autoptic exams), under the supervision of Dr. Pietro Asproni, Head of the Department.
