We are seeking a veterinarian to undertake a postgraduate research project on the viral pathogenesis of Feline Infectious Peritonitis. The project will focus on molecular biological studies. The position is available from 1st March 2019, initially for 12 months.

The post holder has the following tasks:

  • Practical work and data analysis for the dissertation project
  • Contribution to the institute's post mortem diagnostic service (pathology internship)

The successful applicant fulfils the following requirements:

  • EU-recognised veterinary degree
  • Interest in immunopathology and viral diseases and in laboratory work
  • Interest in pathology and in postgraduate training in this discipline
  • Very good English and good German skills (spoken and written)

We offer:

  • Dissertation (Dr.med.vet.) and contribution to the work of "The Bristol-Zurich FIP Consortium" (https://www.vetpathology.uzh.ch/de/forschung.html#4) combined with training in pathology (internship)
  • Option for a subsequent residency towards the certifying examination of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists
  • Salary according to the guidelines of the SNF
