We are seeking a veterinary pathologist to join our Cardiac Pathophysiology Group and the team of pathologists contributing to the Laboratory for Animal Model Pathology (LAMP). The project will focus on the pathogenesis of feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and involve work with murine models of HCM. The position is available as of now for 3 years.
The post holder has the following tasks:
- Research on the pathogenesis of feline hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and work with murine models of HCM
- Project and diagnostic work for the Laboratory of Animal Model Pathology (LAMP)
The successful applicant fulfils the following requirements:
- Veterinarian with an international qualification in veterinary pathology (DiplECVP, DiplACVP) or eligible to sit the certifying examination
- PhD or equivalent in the field of veterinary pathology
- Experience in a broad range of pathology techniques including morphometry and molecular biology (e.g. RT-PCR, ISH); basic experience in ultrastructural pathology is of benefit
- Interest and some experience in laboratory animal pathology
- Keen interest in digital pathology
- Fluent in English (spoken and written), knowledge of the German language is an advantage
- Capable of independent problem solving but also a solid team player
