The CityU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (CityU VDL), a subsidiary of City University of Hong Kong, is currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Veterinary Pathologist to join our team.

The successful candidate will primarily focus on diagnosing animal diseases through detailed pathological examination of tissues, organs, bodily fluids, and whole animals. This role supports clinical services, research, and teaching activities by providing expert pathological analysis and consultation. While the position centers on veterinary pathology, candidates with leadership or management experience are encouraged to apply, as these skills will be considered an asset.

CityU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform necropsies and histopathological examinations to diagnose diseases in animals

· Analyze tissue samples using microscopy, immunohistochemistry, molecular diagnostics, and other laboratory techniques

· Collaborate closely with clinicians, researchers, and laboratory staff to provide diagnostic and research support

· Prepare detailed pathology reports and communicate findings clearly to veterinarians, researchers, and stakeholders

· Participate in teaching and training veterinary students, residents, and technical staff

· Stay current with advances in veterinary pathology and related diagnostic methodologies through continuing education and professional development

· Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, safety, and quality standards within the laboratory

Qualifications:

· Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree

· Board certification or eligibility in Veterinary Pathology

· Strong expertise in animal anatomy, pathology, and diagnostic techniques

· Proficiency in laboratory procedures, diagnostic equipment, and quality assurance practices

· Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills

· Commitment to accuracy, ethical practice, and continuous improvement

· Leadership or management experience is a plus but not required
