Awanui Veterinary and Scientific is seeking a dedicated and experienced Anatomic Pathologist to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position (80 hours per fortnight). Your work will provide challenges and variety across the science spectrum including, the evaluation and interpretation of haematology, cytology, clinical chemistry, endocrinology, urinalysis, serology, microbiology and molecular results. As well as providing specialist advice and phone consultations to veterinary clients.

About the role | Mō te tūranga:

We are looking for an Anatomical Pathologist to join our laboratory team based in New Zealand. This is a permanent, full-time position (80 hours per fortnight). Your work will provide challenges and variety across the science spectrum including, the evaluation and interpretation of haematology, cytology, clinical chemistry, endocrinology, urinalysis, serology, microbiology and molecular results. As well as providing specialist advice and phone consultations to veterinary clients.

About you | He kōrero mōu:
• A veterinary degree eligible for registration with the New Zealand Veterinary Council.
• Postgraduate or specialist qualifications in anatomical pathology (e.g. ACVP, ECVP, MANZCVS, FANZCVS) preferred.
• Experience in veterinary diagnostic pathology, including histopathology and post-mortem examinations.
• A strong understanding of laboratory processes, diagnostic reasoning, and quality assurance systems (e.g. ISO 17025, GLP).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and a commitment to continuous professional development.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
