About the role | Mō te tūranga:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Pathologist to join our team. This role focuses on the interpretation of haematology, cytology, clinical chemistry, urinalysis, and blood film reviews, working closely with veterinarians to provide clinically relevant diagnostic insights. You’ll contribute to the standardisation of diagnostic interpretation, advise on appropriate testing strategies, and play a key role in quality assurance. The position also involves supporting disease surveillance efforts, participating in internal training, and contributing to continuing education for clients and colleagues.
About you | He kōrero mōu:
• A veterinary degree eligible for registration with the New Zealand Veterinary Council.
• Postgraduate or specialist qualifications in veterinary clinical pathology (e.g. ACVP, ECVCP, MANZCVS, FANZCVS) preferred.
• Extensive experience in clinical pathology, including haematology, biochemistry, cytology, and diagnostic interpretation.
• Familiarity with laboratory quality standards and systems (e.g. ISO 17025, GLP).
• Strong diagnostic, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• A collaborative, service-oriented mindset and a commitment to professional growth.
• Ability to work independently and contribute positively within a team environment.
• A proactive, solutions-focused attitude and a commitment to continuous professional development.
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
